China, Japan, Korea Construct Online Component Procurement System
August 18, 2005
China, Japan and Korea, whose electronic components account for nearly half of total global volume, will work together to build up an online component search and procurement system. Previously, Korea's MOCIE (Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy) established an electronic component search system with Japan. Now they plan to expand this system to China with an additional online procurement functionality. This platform will be carried out by EIAK (Electronic Industries Association of Korea), JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association) and CECC (China Electronic Chamber of Commerce). MOCIE is expected to invest 56 billion in this platform by 2009.
